Copy Figure copies workspace not figure

Hi- I'm using Matlab 2013a on Mac OS 10.9.4. When I use "Copy Figure", a screen capture of the workspace -- not of the figure -- is taken. Restarting Matlab does not help. Any ideas?

The "workspace" contains the locally used variables. So please explain, what is copied. Do you mean a screen copy of the workspace browser?

Where are you calling that? I called it from the File pulldown menu of the figure I wanted to copy to the clipboard and pasted it into Word and it was the figure as expected, not a screenshot of the workspace panel. So it worked fine for me in Windows.
