MATLAB TO S-7 200 MICRO/WIN LADDER PROGRAM

hi, I want to make MATLAB and s-7 200 MICRO/WIN ladder program comunicate,they are all installed in my PC,I red about OPC serevr and recently I have been using MATRIKON OPC SERVER FOR SIEMENS PLC,still I couldnt make it,I started doubting myself wether i was in a correct path using that server or not,can any one give me ideas how I can make this happen?, thank you
