Watching plot creation in figure window?

Hi There -

So I want to plot the following:

fft([0;5],4096)

However, I'd like to watch MATLAB trace out the unit circle in figure window.

I have seen my professor do this, however, I don't remember what command he utilized in order to watch the plot get created. Anyone know what he might have done? He did it all in the command window and didn't create any scripts for it.

Here is one way to do something that sounds like what you are asking. (I just used a line as an example.)

N = 1000;

x = 1:N;
y = x;

figure
axis([0 N 0 N])
hold on
for n=2:N
    plot(x(n-1:n),y(n-1:n),'')
    pause(0.01)
end
