Matlab AppDesigner error - too many output arguments?

Hello, I'm trying to fix a problem that occurs when trying to run a self-written app in AppDesigner.

When trying to open the .mlapp-file, following error occurs:

It is not even possible to open it in the following way:

open exampleApp

or

run exampleApp

This also occurs when simply saving a blank app and trying to reopen it.

Any suggestions why this might be the case?
