How to rotate axes?

Hi,
I have a 3D plot which I would like to rotate together with its axes. The z axis for me represents depth, and I would like it to go from left to right. I did not manage to do it neither setting proper angles for the view function, nor by hand allowing rotate3d.
Is there a way to do it?

Silvia - could you describe what happened when you did try the view function or the roate3d? Why didn't either of those methods work? What code did you use?
