Define field in operations with polynomials

I have this c=gfconv(a,b,2^n) for GF(2^4),where a,b-arrays, n=4. Theprogram says: Error using gfconv The field parameter must be a positive prime integer. So how to declare the field right? I've tried different ways, but nothing. Thank you in advance!

Julie - the error message is telling you that the field parameter, the third input to this function, must be a positive prime integer. If n is greater than one, then 2^n is not a prime integer. See gfconv for details which states that To work in GF(2^m), use the conv function with Galois arrays.
