how can i find minimal polynomial or greatest common divisor for this matrix ,, HELP

hello i want fast answer , for how to find minpoly for this matrix [L-1 0;0 L-1] the answer is L-1 ,, hint . i have found the characteristic polynomial for this matrix , and if i can find the greatest common divisor for this matrix i can obtain the minpoly

Your need for a fast answer is irrelevant. Everyone who posts here wants a fast answer. It merely says that you need to manage your time better in the future. I'll give you a hint though. You want to compute the gcd, though I see you said that yourself.
