Is it possible to disable figure/plot visibility while publishing a Matlab Script with the publish() function?

I have some scripts that generate some reports for me (quite long) using the publish() function. The reports contain anywhere from 100-1000 figures, my problem is that every time I try to publish my scripts, the figures pour out on my screen (stealing window focus and RAM). I have tried throwing this in my script: set(0,'DefaultFigureVisible','on'), but it disabled visibility within my report as well. Any idea how to get around this? Thanks!!

As of R2024b, there is no publishing option to prevent figure windows from appearing while still capturing them in the report. However, you can create custom functions to force a particular figure to be included in your published document, then you can close the figure to prevent too many figures from cluttering your screen.
Please find detailed steps in this help article: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/114375-is-there-a-publishing-option-to-prevent-figure-windows-from-appearing-when-publishing-my-script-in-m
Hope this helps!
