How to smooth a histogram using a Gaussian window of size m×1?

Hi, i have extract the red channel of an image and here is the histogram of the image:

How can I smooth the histogram using a Gaussian window of size m×1?

(FYI, a threshold value will then be formulated using this smoothed histogram.)

You can try movmean:

windowWidth = 7; % Whatever you want.
counts = movmean(counts, windowWidth);
