Hello,
I am looking for "Smart Plug WiFi Outlets Surge Protector" that can be accessed via MATLAB.
There are a series of equipment to be connected to different outles of Smart Plug.
The Smart Plug must be be accessed via WiFi (having an IP address).
MATLAB script running on a remote PC is to acesss the Smart Plug using that IP address and turn off/on dselected outlets.
I just looked around and "Smart Plugs" I found only work with specific applications.
Does anybod know one that would also work with MATLAB? Or how to make one work?
Thanks.

I would assume the answer is that there is no such thing, especially not if it's WiFi. Not out-of-the-box anyway, and not without resorting to external tools to do all the interfacing with the device. It's not a MATLAB problem.
These devices are generally intended to be controlled via a cloud server somewhere. If the obvious desire to access the plug directly with local devices is as contrary to design intent as it appears, then you'll have to assume that nothing will be convenient, and potential solutions might not be very robust.
There are a few guides for specific models that people have managed to access. You'll just have to search around.
I don't know if any of those methods are valid for newer devices, or whether accessing devices from other manufacturers is as simple.
