Matlab gets stuck in busy on Ubuntu

Hi,

My Matlab 2021b on Ubuntu gets stuck in busy for minutes (1-10) for very simple commands - assignments or simple addition, size,.... It is not a startup issue - it starts instantly and says ready. And it is not happening reliably. Sometimes 20-50 commands will work without delay before this happens. And even then normal execution times and extremely sluggish ones alternate. I also verified it is not a licensing issue as in the often quoted thread. License checkout time is 5ms and the path is pointed to the correct local file. I am not loading anyhting from a network.

Any help is appreciated, as this is wasting an incredible amount of time.

I understand that you are facing slow response using MATLAB 2021b on Ubuntu.

This issue may be due to a small Java heap size. As initial troubleshooting step, try increasing the Java Heap Memory space using the MATLAB preferences. Refer to the documentation below to know about how to change the memory space.
