Bit banging UART with NI USB6211 DAQ

Okay I know it is very dirty, but looks like I have to do this to communicate the DAQ with a MCU(has uart, spi, i2c ..etc). Is Matlab timer is accurate enough to implement this. The comm. can be very slow, i.e. I can live with low baud rates. How high can I go with the baud rate, roughly? 300?,1000?

I'm using matlab's daq toolbox in session based mode to control the daq.
