How to create or develop an HDL Verifier function for a specific HDL model

please help me if you can provide any ideas or advices on how to generate or edit a matlab function that can accomplishes the cosimulation between MATLAB and Modelsim.

I have follwed the step in the tutorial https://www.mathworks.com/help/hdlverifier/ug/verify-hdl-model-with-matlab-testbench.html#bt9obpv-72 but I am stuck with the matlab function.
