Hi Fixed Point Team,
I'm using Fixed-Point tool to propose blocks' data type. And I have a question about the order of block optimization in Optimized Fixed-Point Convertion. To take a simple example, there are 2 blocks in a model, and reduce any one of blocks' word length would meet the behavoral constrant (objective function is Bit Width Sum). If ONLY one iteration can be performed at some point, how to know which block will be optimized?
Thanks in advance.
Lin

Hi Lin,
The optimization proceedure used by Fixed-Point Tool Optimization Conversion workflow is not designed to be deterministic. Due to the discrete and "non-smooth" nature of the optimization problem, search techniques involving randomness are used in exploring the solution space.
