You can either use Spreadsheet Link EX or use the Excel COM interface from MATLAB. See Jiro Doke's answer here: http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/658-store-and-read-mat-file-as-embedded-file-in-an-excel-spreadsheet
