How to recognize a multiple faces from a single image

I am anil and at present i m pursuing my Mtech in CSE........ I want to do a project on image processing area, face recognition concept..... please suggest me ...... how to start the project ...... my aim is to Recognize a multiple faces from a single image..... like i want to recognize the student faces in the classroom.....

please see the example given in computer vision tool box.u can recognize face from that take the boundary box values and apply some training nad testing tools (like Bayesian, NN or fuzzy). all the tools are available as GUI in MATLAB.
