Good morning,
trying to install matlab 2022b on Ubuntu 22.04 but at the moment of selection of installing folder the installation pop-up window immediately get closed when try to modify the destination folder path. If i continue with the default path this red flag appears "Failed to create destination folder /usr/local/MATLAB/R2022b. Specify a different fodler". Also cannot modify by hands the path. Attached the incriminated step.
Thanks to everyone who can help me!

I tried all the hints in that thread but the installing process is blocking at the step in the pic
sudo ./install -mode silent -agreeToLicense yes
xhost +SI:localuser:root
sudo ./install
Same issue for both codes

-mode silent doesn't even work for R2022b IIRC.
You shouldn't be running any GUI program as root but if you must, move the installation folder to /opt/ if the xhost commands aren't working.
Also, try using MATLAB Package Manager.

There are few things you can do:
  1. Create the directory yourself and give the normal Linux user write-permissions to /usr/local/MATLAB
  2. Install it elsewhere, such as /opt, assuming you have permissions to do so
  3. Run the installer as root, although running a GUI as root is generally discouraged in the Linux community
