Unwanted automatic mapping of network drives

5 vues (au cours des 30 derniers jours)

Jayme Lee le 22 Fév 2023
Application: Matlab 2018b
Issue: When running Matlab 2018b, the main working directory automatically gets mapped to a new drive (anything from A - Z, whatever is available). This doesn't happen EVERY time, but every so often whenever it feels like doing so. Same code will be run multiple times, automatic mapping does not happen every time.
Notes:
1) This never seemed to happen before migrating to Matlab 2018b (previously used 2010)
2) The code does not call any Windows system commands to map the drive (i.e system())
3) Thought maybe Windows could be the culprit here, but it only happens when running Matlab so I think Matlab is inducing this
4) See picture for mapped drive chaos
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,
You may try checking the "Map network drive using different credentials" option when you manually map the network drive. This should prompt you to enter your network credentials each time you map the drive, which may prevent the drive from being automatically mapped.
Additionally, you may want to check if there are any network issues or connectivity problems that may be causing the network drive to disconnect and reconnect, which could trigger the automatic mapping of the drive to a new letter.
