Why did offline documentation not install on Linux even though it said installation was successful?

It is likely you installed the doc as root user/sudo. Since the SupportPackages folder is user-specific on Linux, this means it won't show up unless you open MATLAB as root/sudo. You should reinstall the documentation as the user launching MATLAB, or copy the SupportPackages folder from the root user.
