I am working with the example ''Modeling and Testing an 802.11ax RF Receiver with 5G Interference''. After running the model, it shows some figures. One figure shows the plot of EVM vs symbol index. But there is no explanation. Can you please explain it?
What is symbol index here? I have searched a lot about symbol index, but I could'nt get it. How this figure is generated? It shows the plot for only one frame. Why not more frames?

Hi MD Abdul,
In the context of the example you mentioned, the symbol index refers to the index or position of each symbol within a frame. A symbol represents a specific modulation scheme, encoding information in the time and frequency domain. In wireless communication systems like 802.11ax, a frame consists of multiple symbols that carry data.
The figure displaying the plot of EVM (Error Vector Magnitude) versus symbol index provides insights into the performance of the RF (Radio Frequency) receiver in the presence of 5G interference. EVM measures the accuracy of the received symbols compared to the ideal or expected symbols. It quantifies the distortion or error in the received signal.
By plotting EVM against the symbol index, you can analyze how the receiver's performance varies across different symbols within a frame. This plot helps identify if certain symbols are more susceptible to interference, leading to higher EVM values. It can also reveal any patterns or trends in the receiver's performance throughout the frame.
As for why the plot shows only one frame and not more, it could be because the focus of the analysis is on understanding the impact of 5G interference on a single frame. Analysing multiple frames might provide additional insights, but it could also complicate the visualization and interpretation of the results. Depending on the specific requirements of your analysis, you may consider extending it to multiple frames if necessary.
Hope it helps!
