Simpy equivalent commands in Matlab

Hi! I desire to convert a Simpy code into Matlab that performs a Discrete Event Simulation. Would appreciate guidance regarding equivalent commands in Matlab. For example, how one could define Environment, timeouts, processes or events in Matlab? A possibility could be using SimEvents. However, syntax of Simpy and SimEvents are seemingly quite different.
