Matlab is not running "MATLAB is selecting SOFTWARE OPENGL rendering"

I am running ubuntu 22.04 and have install both the 2023 and 2020 versions of matlab, both encounter an issue after writing "MATLAB is selecting SOFTWARE OPENGL rendering". It does not crash - but nothing loads. I have looked for other solutions with no success.

You can start Matlab in Linux without OpenGL using:
matlab -nosoftwareopengl
