I am new to Matlab. What is the difference between 'char' and '*char' when you use fread?
Thanks.

A = fread(FID, 1, 'char');
B = fread(FID, 1, '*char');
Now A is a DOUBLE, and B is a CHAR. '*char' is equivalent to 'char=>char', as explained in "help fread".
