How can I create a 2D and 3D specified porous material?

I am interested in generating a 2D and 3D specified porous material with defined weight and characteristics like porosity. I plan to implement this geometry using MATLAB and subsequently import it into another software for further analysis. Can anyone provide guidance or code examples for creating such porous materials in MATLAB ?
