Yes, you can use CARLA 0.9.15. CARLA 0.9.15 is using the same custom UE build as 0.9.13. When you export from RoadRunner you have the option to select "Export to CARLA" to make sure it's exported correctly.

So there is no problem with importing the plugins in the carla unreal editor, right?

I am using the proposed workflow with the plugins from the documentation with CARLA 0.9.13, 0.9.14 and 0.9.15 without problems.

@Simone I could successfully install the plugins. But I get errors when I want to import a map both with fbx and udatasmith. I am using Unreal 4.26.2. Is the RoadRunnerCarlaContent plugin also necessary? I havent install this, only the ones mentioned in the docs.
For udatasmith I am getting such errors:
[2024.09.06-02.28.35:628][274]LogAssetEditorSubsystem: Error: Opening Asset editor failed because of null asset
[2024.09.06-02.28.35:626][274]LoadErrors: Failed to load /Script/DataprepCore.DataprepOperation Referenced by RRSignalConfigImport

and with fbx the editor just crashes

Please also add the RoadRunnerCarlaContent plugin.
In UE preferences: Is the Dataprep plugin enabled?
Just to make sure: When you talk about Unreal 4.26, you mean the CARLA fork of Unreal Engine?

@Simone thanks it was not enabled. Now the Import editor is opening for udatasmith. But still I cant import anything or select a map to import. How to do this?
Yes I am talking about the CARLA fork and I used this tutorial to install it https://carla.readthedocs.io/en/latest/build_linux/

@Simone another question. How is actually the xodr data imported if I only import the fbx or udatasmith file. And how is this approach different from that suggested by the carla docs? https://carla.readthedocs.io/en/latest/tuto_M_add_map_source/ Here I had the problem that the traffic signs were not imported correctly.
Explanation what I am aiming to do: I am creating a map in RoadRunner, then I want to import this map to Carla and add some more assests like stationary cars. After running this map, different traffic scenarios should be tested on a car that is controlled by Autoware through a ROS bridge.

Can you provide more information about the datasmith error, e.g. log-file, messages from output window?
Did you try to import the fbx?
There are several ways to get new maps into CARLA. The link you posted is describing the generic CARLA map import for fbx/xodr files using "make import". MathWorks provides the plugins to allow a smooth import of scenes from RoadRunner, not only using fbx but also datasmith format. The documentation describes what the plugins are doing, e.g. extracting information from metadata or xodr files.

@Simone it worked with fbx. I could import the file per drag and drop. Can you explain how I can now package this map from roadrunner with "make package" to share it with colleagues?

@Simone I want package the map so it can be used in the CARLA standalone package

Glad to hear that you are now able to import the RoadRunner map.
Your colleagues are not using source build version but a packaged version?
The map import for a packaged version is only available in Linux and requires a docker container. The process is described here:
