How are device ID's assigned ?

I'm running several video objects. Sometimes particularly after a crash the device ID's for the video objects seem to change. Is there a way to fix the device ID's to the specific cameras ??

Device IDs are assigned as MATLAB sees them. If you do unplug certain devices in the middle of your session, you should run IMAQRESET or restart MATLAB, and run imaqhwinfo. At this time, based on what devices you have connected, MATLAB will assign them device IDs.
