Why do I receive a version conflict error when trying to install using MPM?

When trying to install on top of an existing MATLAB installation from an MPM download package, I'm receiving the following error in Terminal:

Error: Unable to install because of conflicting release versions. The specified release conflicts with the existing installation.

My MATLAB release matches what I downloaded. Why is this happening?

This error occurs because while the release of MATLAB may match between your installed MATLAB and mpm download package, the Update levels differ. If not specified in the MPM command, MPM will download for the latest update level for whatever release was specified. If the update levels differ, this error will be thrown. 

To download a specific update for a release, specify the release name with an update number suffix, for example R2022bU4. An example MPM command is below:

mpm download --release=R2022bU4 --destination=~/Desktop/MATLAB_Download --products MATLAB Simulink MATLAB_Support_Package_For_Arduino_Hardware

This command will download installation files MATLAB, Simulink, and the Arduino Support Package for R2022b at the Update 4 level.
