Problems in installing Symbolic Math Toolbox

I am trying to install the Symbolic Math Toolbox in Ubuntu-20. The folder /usr/local/MATLAB/R2024B has all permissions needed as you can see in Img-1.
But I get the msg as in Img-2. (Sorry not to include only the red text but I did not find any one.)
Any help welcome.
Happy new year.

You cd /usr/local/MATLAB/R2024b . From that directory you invoke matlab . There is no local file named matlab so you are either activating an alias or else you have a matlab executable somewhere on your search path. Either way, there is the possibility that the alias or executable is not to /usr/local/MATLAB/R2024b/bin/matlab

pngs = dir('*.png')
for k = 1:numel(pngs)
figure
imshow(imread(pngs(k).name))
end
First, if you haven't already, click on the link in the error window to find out what it says. (My installation is different from yours, since MATLAB wanted toinstall it to Home/ usr/local/MATLAB/R2024b, so I let it.)
See: Linux : Installing new toolboxes on an existing installation since that may apply to your situation.

My pleasure!
That is the same link I directed you to in my answer.
You, too!
