speed and position control of dc motor through stm microcontroller

i have been using stm32 nucleo L476RG in simulink, i want to control speed and position of the motor. i had tried some methods avaliabe on internet but most them use Encoder block but in stm32 support package there is no encoder block. i also tried to use quadrature decoder but i cant able to use it because i dont know how give input.
