Can't resize UI panel objects with plot edit tools in r2025?

I had been using uipanel objects to help with laying out subfigures for large, elaborate figures with multiple panels. I'd put groups of related figures in there, and then resize the panels using the plot edit tools until the figures looked "right". However, it seems like ui panel objects are not even selectable with the plot edit tools any more, does that sound right? What possible reason could there be for "breaking" this feature? Is there some other object that can be used to contain multiple graphics objects and is WYSIWYG resizable?

Hey Adam,
Faced the same issue in R2025b. I think switching back to R2024b is the best workaround.
As an alternative, you can use tiledlayout - https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/tiledlayout.html
If your figure has a complex layout, it is recommended to use uigridlayout - https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/uigridlayout.html
f = uifigure;
g = uigridlayout(f,[2 2]);
ax1 = uiaxes(g);
ax2 = uiaxes(g);

Thanks, but neither of those suggestions solves the core problem of not having dynamically resizable UI panel objects in any way (except rolling back to an older version of matlab which is obviously not a sustainable solution) I ended up writing my own callback routines to restore the desired behavior. Basically “patching” the function that Mathworks broke
