It appears to me that text labels in AppDesigner canvases have two types:
  • labels that are standalone, independent of any component -- these are always listed in the Component Browser, regardless of settings.
  • labels that are tied to a particular component, e.g., the label of an editfield -- these are by default not listed in the Component Browser, though that is controllable.
If a label is tied to a component, shouldn't its Enable state always be synchronized with the component? If so, how did I get into the state below where my dropdowns and editfields are enabled, but not their labels, and how do I correct this?
Additionally, is there a way to suppress standalone labels from the Component Browser? And is there a way to associate a label with a component manually? Grouping doesn't seem to work.

For the first, the component label is a separate, distinct uilabel object independent of the object component with which it is conceptually and visibily associated by the appdesigner editor. Hence, its properties including 'Enabled' are controllable/controllled separately.
The second I think is "not at present" although could be an enhancement request.
The last is "I don't think it makes sense" in that the two are going to be independent objects no matter what although you could put them into a container or such.
