Hello, Is it possible to generate the imread() function from MATLAB to generate the C Coder standalone c code for embedded compiler

Doesn't Matlab Coder come with help that includes a list of supported functions? If it is in that list then yes you can, if it isn't then you can't.

No it is not, at least not up to R2015a. See http://www.mathworks.com/help/simulink/ug/functions-supported-for-code-generation--alphabetical-list.html
