fscanf in Simulink

I receive some strings in UDP. I can see them using fscanf. But I would like to have them in Simulink environment. I tried "UDP Receive" block, but it seems that it's different from fscanf. Is there any way that I can monitor the strings, received via UDP, in Simulink?

Simulink doesn't support string data type. See http://www.mathworks.com/help/toolbox/simulink/ug/f14-90479.html#f14-90488
You may be able to view the data. Check to see if they are the ASCII value of the corresponding characters.

This older Question contains references to some tools that could be used for monitoring: http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/14040-how-to-read-incoming-packets-from-ethernet-card
