Is it possible to plot a matrix? i have a matrix 7x7 with valure around 1 and i want to show (maybe with different colour) how near are to 1 these value as it is a temperature or something like that.

imagesc() would probably be better than surf() for this purpose.
imagesc(magic(7))

magic(5) creates a 5x5 magic square, surf plots it as a surface. The more specific you can be with the results you're after, the better we can tune our answers.
