How to save to my computer using a remote server matlab?

Hi I am using Matlab R2015a for my college. My problem is that we use it from a remote server at the college (it saves us thousands of dollars). However I have no idea how to save my files, code, figures, etc. My professor said the first time we brought up matlab it would ask if we wanted "no access" "read only" or "read and write" and we were supposed to click on read and write. Only I never remember seeing that and now when I go to save files I can't find any hard drives, usb drives, or external drives on my computer. Is there a way to fix this? I use WINDOWS 10

Whatever you are describing is not standard MATLAB. We have no idea how the remote system is set up or how you access it.
