This is one of my homework questions and I don't know where to start with it. Any suggestions are appreciated. I am not asking for a completed solution - just a start or a pointer.

I am not asking for a solution - I am asking for a start. I have spent the past 8 hours online looking for help and was hoping someone here could help. I AM MAKING AN EFFORT. Don't say that I am not when you don't know.
