Student Licence and Course Licence

I am doing an MIT course for which I already have a student licence. This expires end Dec. Can I buy a student licence now and will the transition from my present course licence to the student licence be seamless i.e. don't have to do anything?

You can buy a student license now. You would probably need to re-activate your software with the new license number.
