GUI functionalities work in Windows, not in MacOS

I am developing a toolbox with Matlab, based on Guide GUIs. I have implemented a few more 'advanced' options based on answers in this forum, including having text with different colors in a list box (using the html solution). Everything works well on my Windows system with recent Matlab versions (2014a,b, 2015a) but it does not work on recent Mac versions. Similarly, right-clicks in GUIs created with Guide work in Windows but not in Mac OS (although it worked on older versions of the OS and of Matlab). Are these Java related issues? What can I do?
