Where Can I Find Reference URLS to Make Answering Questions Here Easier?

  • Do you answer questions on MATLAB Answers?
  • Do you need a quick reference to a URL that you know exists but are unsure of where and you don't feel like clicking and digging?
I'm creating this as a tool to contain the direct URLS to frequently used references. I personally will bookmark this thread so I can access it immediately. Hopefully it can work well for you too! Here are a few reasons I feel this will be helpful:
  1. The contents of the FAQ is always collapsed, so you have to let the whole page load, uncollapse the contents, and then click a link to copy its URL. There's too much red tape in this process to make it enjoyable.
  2. Sometimes the FAQ has banner/pop-up ads that are annoying.
  3. A very large percent of the FAQ is rarely used and thus in the way for daily needs.
  4. Not every quick reference is in the FAQ. An example might be Walter's "Where do I upload Images?" thread or Oleg's "Tutorials"
  5. There are specific files in the FEX that we link to frequently such as Matt's Guis or export_fig.
Please make answers to this question bulleted, descriptive, and concise with no duplicates to another's answer so that a quick check can provide the links we need. I'll be populating it with my own links in the next few days. Please one answer per person unless it gets hideously long.
As you can imagine, as long I don't click in the wrong place, this question will never be closed.
Thank you fellow Answerers!

I deal with this situation by bookmarking frequent answers in to my Firefox bookmark toolbar; to use them, I grab them with the mouse and drag them in to the answer I am constructing.
I have more items bookmarked at home. The ones I have bookmarked here are:
I know that at home I also have bookmarked
One that I do not have bookmarked but which I have tagged for easy access is
which I tagged with learning-matlab
and from time to time I pull other random items out of tag:tutorial
I also have an item with tag:"always parent" which is my explanation of how and why to always parent graphics operations. I think I'm about the only one who refers to that.

You should try out the "Sync" capability of Firefox. Now my bookmarks on my work/laptop computer and home/tower computer are always synced up automatically.

If I were to dig around a bit, I would probably find that my links at home to reviews of toenail-clippers were Not Acceptable at work. e.g., if we have a patent on one, or we have a project to help develop one, or one of our board members made a speech about how "uncivilized" toe-nail cutters are...
