How to create a a digital waveform?

Hello! I have to create a digital signal that I send to my DAQ. How can I create this file? Thank you!!

Almost any series of numbers could be said to be a digital waveform, you'd have to be more specific. Personally I also have no idea what DAQ is. This is a Matlab forum so if it isn't common Matlab terminology you need to explain it really!

I'm sorry! I want to send a digital signal like a rectangular pulse to my DAQ board. Anyway I need to create a file to send to my board. For example I created a file audio like a sine wave that represente my analog signal. So what kind of format I have to create (for digital signal)?
