how do i copy figure in linux

i am running matlab on a linux system and i want to copy a figure to paste it into a presentation (for example openoffice impress). There is no option available. How can i do it?

Try this:

 bar(1:10) %whatever your figure is
  print('BarPlot','-dpng')
