how to Perform Xor on Non Real matrix

I want to Perform Xor on Variable that contain both real and imaginary part, so can any one help me out as xorr give me an error
??? Error using ==> xor
Inputs must be real.
pl Help me

When A and B are complex-valued, their xor is
xor( A ~= 0, B ~= 0)

can you please elaborate it ??
For Example , Let A = 1 + i1 + 0 +i0 and B = 0 + i1 + 1 +i1 then how i can perform A Xor B in Matlab

A = [1 + 1i, 0 + 0i];
B = [0 + 1i, 1 + 1i];
xor( A ~= 0, B ~= 0)
ans =
0 1
