Is there any possibility to split H5(Hdf5) File. I am using 3 gb of H5 file and I want to read it on Matlab. I have tried it once but after an Hour also It didn't loaded. Anybody has an idea about it. I would be so thankful.

try use a vector function instead of the for loop. example, make some changes

 data_raw = importdata('xxx.m'); 
data = data_raw.data;
result = data(:,:)

You would very rarely want to importdata() against a .m file.

Do you use a 64bit Matlab? If so, I find it very hard to believe that the size of the file should be the reason to your problems.

What's the reason for the tag: "Matlab Compiler"?

I have a similiar problem. My data is 16 GB big. To get the names of my datasets i use 'h5info'. However, After hours there was no result.

All datasets are in one group. Is it possible to create some subgroups in which i can order the data, without know the hole dataset name?

My data looks like:

data_1_timestmp1, .... data_1_timestmpN,

data_2_timestmp1, .... data_2_timestmpN,

...

For me it works with h5 rather than hdf5! Give it a try
