MATLAB crashes on startup

I recently installed MATLAB vR2016a on my DELL desktop with Intel i7-4790 processor NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 which is running Windows 7 Professional (64 bit). Since installing it, I have been unable to start MATLAB as it crashes each time I try to open it.

I notice you have a Dell. Do you have Dell Backup and Recovery installed? If so then either uninstall it or be sure that you have updated to the latest version of it.

It was a dumb thing at the end . I realized I had Windows 7 and not Windows 7 SP1. So I downloaded the update and everything works fine now.
