Are there tools for metaheuristic algorithms?

Hi, I'm about to start working on a program that uses ant colony optimization algorithms. Is there some tool in your toolbox that I can use or I have to build everything from scratch? Thanks for the answers.

I'm not kidding: Did you ask an internet search engine already for the terms "Matlab ant colony"? I see many solutions there, some e.g. in the FileExchange. So you can be sure, that you do not have to write everything from the scratch, but you can, if you want.
