C++ redistributable error

When I try to install the MCR, I get a box titled "Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) - 12.0.30501 Setup" with the error message "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2203.". Trying to uninstall the C++ library or repair it from the control panel fails with the same error message. Because of this, I am unable to install the MCR on this laptop, so no MATLAB-created products can work on it.
