Video frame's extraction without toolboxes

Hello, I would like to ask you if I can extract a video's frames in images with Matlab. My problem is that cause I am working in labs I don't have the access to install any toolbox , so I can't use the Videoreader or the mmreader. Do you have any ideas? Thank you.

VideoReader should work. It doesn't look like it's in any toolbox. See attached demo (though my demo may use things from the Image Processing Toolbox.)

I got a message : Unable to determine the codec required. It was about VideoReader, so I am guessing I have to install that codec first!
