How are confidence interval values calculated for exponential fit?

I successfully use expfit to fit data to an exponential model.

I get the result of the estimated parameter (muhat) with its appropriate confidence interval (muci), but I need to understand how the confidence-interval values are calculated. However, I can't seem to find reference to relevant documentation.

I'd appreciate an explanation or reference.
