How can I fix a connection timeout error?

I am trying out the webread examples provided by matlab and I keep getting the following error : Error using webread (line 119) The connection to URL 'http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral' timed out after 5 seconds. Set options.Timeout to a higher value.
Error in attempt (line 1) webread('http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral').
What am I supposed to do? I set the timeout to Infinite using the weboptions function but still get the same error.
