Add new data into existing excel file

I have an existing excel file and I want to add new data in a new column. How will I do that?

If you use xlswrite with this code it should work:

filename = 'testdata.xlsx';
A = {'Time','Temperature'; 12,98; 13,99; 14,97};
sheet = 2;
xlRange = 'E1';
xlswrite(filename,A,sheet,xlRange)

Notice how the xlRange shows the columns.

I want to happen is every time I click the save button it will automatically save the data in another column.

Hazel, I suggest to you increase the range, in "xlRange" variable, to change the column.
